What is progress billing?

Billing a project in stages as work is completed rather than all at once at the end. Each invoice, or draw, covers the work done since the last one.

Does this replace AIA-style pay applications?

No. Some owners and lenders require specific pay application forms. This template works well for simpler draw schedules; use the required forms when your contract calls for them.

Should I include retainage?

If your contract withholds retainage, you can note the amount withheld and the running total in the notes. Retainage rules vary by contract and state, so follow your agreement.

How should I number draw invoices?
